Plot

3 years ago, a man lost his younger sister in the “Bar Code” murder case. Since then he has lost his senses. A girl miraculously survived the “Bar code” murder case. Since then, she has lost her memory, but also has gained the ability to see smells.

1. “The Girl Who Sees Smells” takes over the Wednesday & Thursday 21:55 time slot previously occupied by “Hyde Jekyll, Me” and will be followed by “Mask” in May, 2015.
2. Based on the webcomic “Naemsaereul Boneun Sonyeo” by Man Chwi (first published from July 23, 2013 via cartoon.media.olleh.com).
3. Singer/actress Bae Suzy was first offered the lead female role, but declined due to scheduling conflicts with her Kpop group Miss A.
4. Brief Korean working title was “Gamgaknamnyeo” (literally “Sensory Couple”) before changing back to its original title of “Naemsaereul Boneun Sonyeo” (literally “The Girl Who Sees Smells”).
5. First script reading took place during the first week of March, 2015 at SBS Ilsan Production Center in Tanhyun, South Korea.
